Korean Beef Seaweed Soup (미역국)

Description

Korean Beef Seaweed Soup, known as 미역국 (Miyeokguk), is a nutritious and comforting dish traditionally eaten on birthdays and by postpartum mothers for its health benefits. In Korean culture, eating this soup on your birthday is a way of expressing gratitude and remembrance for your mother, as seaweed soup is commonly consumed by mothers after childbirth to aid recovery and promote health. Made with tender beef, nutrient-rich seaweed, and a light, savory broth, this soup is simple yet deeply satisfying. It’s perfect for a cozy meal and pairs wonderfully with rice and banchan (side dishes).
